Bursting the balloon and waiting for the balloon to burst.
Balloons bring a joyful atmosphere to the party, but the audience may feel a bit tense. They slowly inflate, always on the verge of bursting.
In the current decade of the 2020s, we are living in a Virilio-esque era of speed, where acceleration and competition propel the world beyond the limits of comprehension. This work explores the tension between the decorative nature of balloons and their fleeting, explosive potential, attempting to create a momentary sense of detachment in response to the hyper-speed of contemporary society.
